When we think about the value of a person, as a society, we’ve been programed to think of the worth of someone as being measured by what they do or have done or by what they may have in terms of material things. What is really the truth is that we were ALL valuable in the heart of God before we were even manifested in the earth through our mothers womb. Let’s take a look at Psalm 139:16-18 “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;” Wow! that is a beautiful truth about the thoughts of God toward us. And let’s look at Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Notice that none of this has anything to do with performance or what we have but just who we are in Him, who He has created us to be. You are valuable because you exist not because of what you do or have done – but simply because you are. As the sons and daughters of the most high God it is our responsibility to walk in the footsteps of our Father. When we begin to see and treat others as valuable is when we will look more like our heavenly Father and the world will see Him and His loving kindness. Philippians 2:3 says; “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,” May we look through the eyes of God when look at our fellow man.
